Nyabing was successful in an application to join the Global Meteor Network (GMN) through Perth’s Observatory Night Sky Camera Project.
This project is funded through the 2023 National Science Week Grant through Inspiring WA and the Department of Jobs, Science, Tourism and Industry and Scitech.
The aim of the project is to bring citizen science to regional and remote areas of Western Australia. By hosting Night Sky Camera connected to the Global Meteor Network allowing sites across WA to capture footage of meteors and night sky phenomena.
The camera is mounted on the roof at the Nyabing Works Depot.
